Day / Night ONE

Don't worry - I am sure I will NOT have enough time to post a daily update on our new Princess, but I wanted to make a note of her first night in her new home.  I also have to share a few pictures as she is JUST SOO CUTE - and YES she IS just as cuddley and soft as she looks!!

Our trip home took about 3.5hrs - and other than being seranaded by a chorus that sounded like a bunch of wild (and very loud) monkeys for the first few minutes - she was pretty much and angel and slept most of the way.

Once home, we tired her out as much as we could - new toys, chews, bed, a few runs up and down the hallway, a visit by Uncle Rich and Aunt Janine, and a fun play session with an empty ice tea bottle with Daddy.

By 10:30, we were pretty much all napping on the living room floor - so it was time for a last out, and bed.  She slept in the small crate that I borrowed and we brought her home in - on the nightstand next to my bed.

We were again seranaded by that chorus of wild monkeys but it only lasted for 5 minutes ( yes I timed it) and she settled down by herself.  She slept quietly until @ 3am, when I heard her sniffing and scratching in her crate - so I put on my coat and shoes and out we went.  She walked around in her run for a few minutes tinkled - then back to bed we went.  She decided to vocalize again - this time more like talking - Phil and I both swear she said "Mama" at least twice!!  She settled after only a few minutes, and didn't make a peep until @ 5:45am when we both got up with her.

She ate most of her breakfast, and since then it has been a non-stop play, take her out, she sleeps for a few minutes, take her out, play some more, sleep some more, out again.  She has had only 2 pee pee accidents - but it is all a matter of routine and getting use to her signals, so we are working on that.

Sweet Puppy Paws - her pads are both black and flesh color, since her fur is black and white on her feet - they are soo soft and tiny!

This is Maggie's impression of a sleeping frog!

Our SLEEPING BEAUTY!

Time to finally take a shower while she is chewing on one of her toys and the boys are in charge - but I wanted to share a few pictures with you first!  Have a great day!

One more day until we pick up our NEW PRINCESS!

Tomorrow, Dec 17th, is the day we get to pick up the New Princess in our life!

While we are still very sad and missing our Beautiful and Loyal "Lily" (aka Turnabout's Princess Water Lily) who we had to send to heaven last month, our home is way too empty without "unconditional doggie love."

We are blessed to be able to add "Reel Life Princess Magdalena of the Sea" aka MAGGIE to our family!  Even more exciting is that our Lily's Dad  "Jay" (Penrico Azul Marino) is Maggie's Great  Grandfather, so we will still have a piece of our precious Lily with us!

I wanted to start this "M is for MAGGIE" Blog to try to cronicle our new puppy's life with us ( like I don't have enough to do!) as I wish I had one to look back on for our Lily.  I hope you will enjoy reading all about what I am sure will be many exciting moments in our new addition's life!

Maggie was born on Oct 18th, 2011. She is one of a litter of 9 puppies. 2 Males and 7 Females.  Her Mother is "Nina"  aka Reel Life Swell Dancer and her Father is "Fenway" Querida's The Green Monster.

It is a @ 4 hr drive to Leominster, Mass., where we will pick up Maggie tomorrow, and our departure time has gradually been moving earlier and earlier as our anticipation grows!  Right now the plan is to be in the car, and on the road at 7am!

Here are the first photos that I have of Maggie from out breeder, Christine Harris  ( who owned Jay, Lily's Dad)

Maggie at 5 weeks old. - this is the first picture we saw of our new girl!

Maggie at 6 weeks old, and Chris said she "is a Good Girl!"

We can't wait to meet her in person!
